Humanities & Data Science CIG
Overview
The Humanities and Data Science Community Interest Group focuses on building a culture of collaboration at the intersections between Data Science and AI, Humanities, and the broader GLAM sector. Focusing particularly on providing early career support and networking opportunities, we offer regular meetings, research showcases, and propose two workshops that are designed to stimulate discussion and inspire mutual understanding and the creation of joint research opportunities, including a practical workshop that focuses on developing funding applications.
The group operates on a principle of enabling a safe space for constructive discussion of our successes, failures, ideas and opportunities, in order to strengthen collaboration between our respective fields and promote interdisciplinary exploration and excellence. We see this CIG as particularly well placed to support and enable links between the GLAM sector and academic Digital Humanities/Data Science/AI researchers, as part of the wider Association mission to connect these fields.
