We are thrilled to share that following a highly competitive call for applications in May 2026, six new Community Interest Groups (CIGs) will be joining the UK-Ireland Digital Humanities Association!

Newly Approved Community Interest Groups

• Cultural Heritage Open Scholarship Network (CHOSN)
• Digital Humanities Pedagogies
• Digital Infrastructures for Arts, Humanities & Cultural Heritage (DIAHCH)
• Humanities and Data Science
• UK-Ireland Web Archive Research Network (UK-IE WARN)
• Feminist Digital Humanities

These new additions bring our total to 10 active CIGs, joining our four existing groups:

• Digital Correspondence: transhistorical perspectives on language, materials and corpora
• Digital Humanities Climate Coalition
• Multilingual DH in the UK and Ireland
• Protecting the Investigator in Traumatic Research Areas

This expansion reflects a significantly broader community of practitioners and scholars dedicated to engaging in grass-roots work, shaping policy, and advancing best practice across digital humanities in the UK and Ireland.

About Our Community Interest Groups 

CIGs are flexible, bottom-up, and community-driven groups organized around existing communities of practice, specific research interests, or salient issues in digital humanities. As a primary vehicle for community building within the Association, they provide adaptive spaces that respond directly to community needs—helping make our network more inclusive, collaborative, and sustainable.

There is no limit to the number of people who can participate, and each group’s form and activities are tailored by its members. Approved groups run for an initial 18-month term, with the opportunity to continue evolving alongside the changing priorities of the field.
