Survey Launched by the Research Software Engineering in the Arts and Humanities CIG

As a Community Interest Group (CIG) in the UK-Ireland Digital Humanities Association, the Research Software Engineering in the Arts and Humanities CIG is interested in learning about the experiences of those who contribute to the design, development and maintenance of software for research in Digital Humanities.

If you identify as a Research Software Engineer (someone who applies software engineering skills in a research environment) or as a researcher or professional contributing to Research Software Engineering work and groups in the Arts and Humanities or cultural heritage research domains, we would love for you to complete our survey.

We are also acknowledging that there might be other roles under which you might identify yourself, e.g. part of the Research Technical Professional umbrella such as data steward, research infrastructure engineer, research software designer, Digital Humanities developer, etc. We still want to hear from you!

If someone who fits this description has worked on a research project with you independently of their affiliation, please pass this survey along to them – we need to add their voice. The aim of this survey is to map the current needs of an inclusive RSE community in the UK and Ireland and better inform our engagement, advocacy and policy work in this space.

Complete the survey at: https://forms.office.com/e/W4NaaGZx3Y

Survey responses are anonymous, and will take 7-10 minutes to complete.

About the Research Software Engineering in the Arts and Humanities Community Interest Group

The Research Software Engineering in the Arts and Humanities Community interest group aims to offer a forum for the Research Software Engineering (RSE) community working and collaborating in Arts and Humanities across UK and Ireland for more focused discussion, expertise and knowledge exchange, action, advocacy and policy making towards the development of AH RSE capability.

The CIG recognises that AH RSEs belong to the broad category of Research Technology Professionals which UKRI acknowledges are key to the delivery of high quality research. It aims to work in alignment with the UK RSE Society and other relevant national initiatives in the UK and Ireland such as the Software Sustainability Institute and the Society of Research Software Engineers.
