Community and Advocacy Manager Appointed

The UK-Ireland Digital Humanities Association is happy to announce the appointment of Jenny McHugh as its Community and Advocacy Manager.

As the Community and Advocacy Manager, Jenny will be leading on engagement with stakeholders across the Digital Humanities community. She is working closely with the Community Interest Groups (CIGs), the Advocacy and Engagement Fellow, and the Association’s Collective to deliver initiatives including the establishment of our membership model and the delivery of our annual event. She is also keen to develop a programme of community events, a robust communication strategy and relationships with policy makers, funding bodies, Digital Research Infrastructure partners, cultural heritage institutions, the creative industries and the technology sector.

Before being appointed, Jenny was working as a Research Data Manager at Lancaster University Library, leading initiatives on digital preservation, data ethics, open research and EDI in data science. She was also a deputy theme lead in Lancaster’s Data Science and AI Institute. She has a background working in libraries, museums, archives and historical research, with a PhD in medieval history from Lancaster University (2023).
